Battery and charging rules:

 

1. These rules apply to all LiPo batteries including Radio Transmitters.

2. Only LiPo batteries on the approved list below may be used in your car.

3. LiPo Batteries must be charged on a charger designed specifically for LiPo batteries.

4. Lithium batteries of any type must be charged in a fire retardant charging bag or box.

5. Batteries must be charged on your pit table and supervised at all times. Any batteries left charging in corridors or other unsupervised location will disconnected and removed.

6. In accordance with the BRCA rules, the maximum voltage a single LiPo cell can be charged to is 4.2v. Below are the maximum voltages per battery type:

1S LiPo may be charged to a maximum of 4.2v

2S LiPo may be charged to a maximum of 8.4v

Overvolting (charging a battery in excess of these voltages) will be reported to the BRCA

7. The maximum charge rate allowed is 1C; where the charge rate is equal to the rating of the battery i.e. 4800mA battery may be charged at a maximum 4.8A.

8. Swollen or damaged batteries are NOT to be used.

 

These rules are implemented to safeguard everybody and are followed at all times. If you are unsure or have any questions please ask a member of the committee.

 

Anybody not complying with the above will be asked to leave with immediate effect.
