Welcome to our latest series - Carpet Legends​

​​

This is our biggest series yet, held at our new venue Stevenage Leisure Centre. The new venue allows us to hold much bigger meetings with a track size of 30x16m.​

​

The format of the series will be 5 rounds and will consist of a 17.5t blinky, frontie and MTC class. We have also purchased brand new ETS carpet to run on at these events.​

​

Parking is available nearby and can be viewed here. Parking at the venue will cost £2.50 for the day. The venue also has a canteen so food and drinks will be served all day. Food and drink is available from the town, only a short walk away​

​

Trackside shop will be available with all your essentials - ran by our sponsor SC Models.​

​

Doors will open at 07:30 and we aim to be finished at 17:00.​

​

Racing Rules:​

Additive - Strictly MR33 V5 and will be handout. Please do not bring any other additive into the venue. Tyre warmers are also not permitted to be used at this event. â€‹

​

Classes - 17.5t Blinky, Frontie and MTC. All must comply with our usual club rules.​

​

Ride Height - As always ride height minimum is 5mm. Cars will be checked.​

​

Marshalling - Once you have completed your race, cars and transmitters must be placed on the table and you must go straight out to marshal. Please do not return to your pitting area until you have finished marshalling - this is to speed up getting the next heat to the line and ready to race.​

​

17.5t Blinky  - All cars must be running 17.5t motor from the BRCA approved motor list, and be in blinky mode. Control tyre is Rush 30 (RU0445). Shell must be BRCA/ETS approved and constructed of lexan. Maximum wing width is 190mm and cross section 40x20mm. Minimum weight is 1300g.​

Frontie - Hobbywing Justock G2.1 17.5 motor with Hobbywing Justock G3 ESC - the older ESC cannot be used. All FWD cars running 17500RPM limit and 5.0FDR Maximum. Control tyre is Ride TR09 Slicks (RI-36086 OR RI-36086-ID24/25). Shell must be BRCA/ETS approved and constructed of lexan. Only wings supplied with the body can be used. Maximum wing width is 190mm and cross section 35x15mm. Minimum weight is 1250g.​

MTC - All cars must be running the BRCA approved motor and esc below £75. Shell can be any car- based designed for 210/225mm wheelbase. Minimum weight is 1200g. Tyres must be rush minis or sweeps.​

Modified - Any modified motor from the BRCA/IFMAR list. Any ESC below £75. Shell must be BRCA/ETS approved and constructed of lexan. Maximum wing with is 190mm and cross section 40x20mm. Minimum weight is 1200g.​

Charging - A LiPo sack MUST be used and MAXIMUM of 8.4V, 4.2V per cell. Batteries must be charged or discharged using a LiPo charger on the LiPo settings, and must not be charged in excess of the manufactures guidelines, or 15A, whichever is lower, and discharged in excess of the manufactures guidelines, or 20A, whichever is lower. Please ensure when charging that batteries are not left unattended.​

​

Track - Track will be approximately 30x16 metres, using plastic trunking and ETS carpet.​

​

Racing Format - The event will run a practice session, followed by four 5 minute qualifying rounds (FTQ). The event will finish with 2 finals.​

​

Transponders - We are using the latest MyLaps RC4 decoder with V4.5 Software, only MyLaps transponders work on this system(Pure, Hybrid or Pro). MRT/AMB transponders unfortunately do not work, transponder rental will not be available. Compatibility list can be viewed here.​

​

Pitting  - You are required to supply your own table and chair for the event. Please if possible share a 6ft table between 2 people to help maximise pitting space. A pitting plan will be made available closer to the event date.​

​

Registration - Registration will open and be made via the Cognito Form. Once drivers are selected the payment will need to be made to the clubs PayPal. The cost of the rounds will be £20 per round or £90 if all 5 are booked upfront. Booking in for multiple classes is permitted.​

​

Refunds - After booking in, all entries are non-refundable on the basis of the costs of running the events​

Registration for the event opens 1st July and closes August 12th.​
